We’re Here for Your Car’s Alignment Needs
Have you ever been on your way to work in the morning, driving down the road, when something feels off—then you notice that your steering wheel is turned to the side even though you’re driving straight? That probably means something is wrong with your car’s alignment. Not only is driving like this quite unsafe since you can have to overcompensate to steer in an emergency, but it also reduces your vehicle’s efficiency, wears down your tires faster, and can cause other problems. Fortunately, we’re here at Scrubway Wash & Lube to help with everything your vehicle needs and get you back on the road in a vehicle that you’ll enjoy driving each day.

What Is a Vehicle’s Alignment?
When we’re talking about alignment, what we mean is the way that the wheels on your vehicle (and, therefore, the tires wrapped around them) are angled in relation to the rest of your car. There are actually three different measurements involved in a proper alignment, but it all comes down to the position of your wheels relative to your vehicle. Camber measures how your wheels angle either inward (negative camber) or outward (positive camber) when viewed from the front. On the other hand, toe looks at your wheels from above and whether they angle inward (toe in) or out (toe out). Finally, caster measures their position related to a vertical centerline when viewed from the side—this is harder to spot, which is why our expert technicians use advanced equipment to check your alignment.
How Do I Know My Alignment Is Off?
Although we use our diagnostic tools to check your vehicle’s alignment, there are also telltale signs you should have in mind that can warn you about a problem. As we mentioned earlier, if you notice your steering wheel is at an angle, but your vehicle is going straight, then you might have an alignment issue. Similarly, if your vehicle tends to veer or pull to the left or right while you drive, then that can indicate an alignment problem. If you check your tires regularly, then look for any signs of uneven wear and tear; you might also feel vibrations in your steering wheel while driving, which can be an indicator that your alignment is off.

How Is Alignment Adjusted?
When you bring your vehicle to us, we will use our diagnostic equipment to measure the three aspects of alignment for your vehicle and compare them to how they should be. We will then adjust your vehicle’s suspension and wheels to get them back into their proper position so that your vehicle handles properly when you are on the road. It can be tricky to make the right adjustments to fix all three types of alignment angles, which is something we often see with customers who try to adjust their alignment at home. Our experts are ready to assist with everything your vehicle needs and make sure it is in great shape.
